How to market a candle brand.

You pour the wax, pack the orders and answer the DMs. You do not have a spare week to learn an SEO suite, an ad spy and a creator database. We run the tools and write the next steps for a candle and home goods store.

What growth research matters

Four jobs. Not five dashboards.

A candle brand doing roughly $1K to $10K a month does not need an agency roster of software. It needs research on what is already in the shop: candles, diffusers, room sprays, matches, trays and gift sets.

Search comes first. People look for "soy candle", "beeswax taper", "candle gift set", "best candle for a small bedroom" and "how to make soy candles". The last search will not buy from you. If your collection uses the same words as a DIY blog, you fight the wrong pages. A single-wick page and a gift-set page should not chase the same term. "Host gift" and "housewarming candle" are not "shop all candles".

Ads come next. Scent does not show in a still photo. Ads that stay up usually show the room, the burn and why it is a gift. You need the hook and how long it has run. You do not need a thousand jars you will never watch.

Then creators and shops. A beauty account is the wrong ask for a cedar candle. You want people who film shelf resets, dinner tables, entryways and gift guides. Florists, boutiques and gift shops already sell what sits next to a candle. A lead is useful only with a verified email and a first message you can send.

Reviews repeat the same fights. Scent throw. A melt pool that tunnels. Soot on the glass. A wick that drowns. A scent that dies after an hour. A jar that cracks in shipping. "Hand poured with love" answers none of that. Free tools make it worse. Stale or misleading data sends you after a hobby query, or an ad that stopped months ago. You still rewrite the page. That effort is wasted.

Example findings, not a client result

What the report looks like.

These examples show the shape of a finding. They are not from a real store, and they are not a live data pull. Your report uses your URL and the rivals you name.

Split the search

Example findingA "Candles" collection sits beside DIY pages. Next step: aim it at gift and scent language, put burn time and scent notes above the fold, and take DIY wording out of the intro.

Name the room

Example findingHook to test: "For the bedroom that never smells like clean laundry" on a linen candle, filmed on a nightstand, not a white sweep. You still write and run the ad.

Write the first note

Example findingA shelf-reset stylist, with a verified email and this draft: "I make a cedar candle that belongs on a styled shelf. I can send one for a reset if you want it. No script." Same shape for a florist.

Use buyer words

Example findingBuyers praise "the whole room smells like it" and complain the center sinks. Line to test: "A wide wick so the melt pool reaches the glass. Built for a living room, not a desk."
What we deliver

The work, not the logins.

Semrush, Foreplay, Minea, Modash and Hunter are good products. Their plans are built for teams and agencies that live in the software. A founder packing Thursday orders does not need that capacity. You need the findings.
